Neighborhood Watch Programs are coordinated through the Metropolitan St. Louis Police Department Public Affairs Officer. Residents are trained by the police department to be alert to neighborhood activities and to protect their neighborhood in a safe, effective and appropriate manner. It does NOT require anyone to patrol the neighborhood for purposes of security. At the conclusion of the training program with the Police Department representative, signs are placed at street entrances indicating the area is a Neighborhood Watch block. Neighborhood Watch has proven to be valuable asset in controlling crime in our area. Each block is encouraged to take part in Neighborhood Watch. Block Captains should discuss benefits of participation with residents. A registration form is available upon request. |
