Commercial Business Districts

The St. Louis Development Corporation has established the Neighborhood Commercial District Improvement Program to stabilize and revitalize Neighborhood Commercial Business Districts. The Commercial District Managers work with Business Associations in the neighborhoods to improve the commercial core of these business strips as well as assisting with individual neighborhood businesses. Working in conjunction with various City departments, and through initiatives aimed especially for the business and property owner, the Commercial District Managers help to implement:

• The organization and management of Business Associations.
• The establishment and maintenance of a positive business climate in the City of St. Louis.
• Assisting business and/or property owners in utilizing government sponsored business development funding opportunities.
• Administering the Neighborhood Commercial District Improvement Program (Commercial Façade Program).
• Developing strategies for Public Improvements in the Neighborhood Commercial Business Districts.
• Assisting in the establishment and management of Special Business Taxing / Assessment Districts.
• Presenting business opportunities to prospective entrepreneurs.
• The marketing of available commercial properties.
• Assisting in the advertising and promotional efforts in the Business Districts.
• Serving as a liaison between the Business Community, City Departments and other governmental agencies and community groups.
