BIDS/PROPOSALS WANTED

There are no Requests for Proposals available at this time.
Text Box: Q: Can we use any city youth for our program?
A: No. You will have to pull from a pool that has already been created by the applicants of the summer jobs program.

Q: Are these contract funds renewable?
A: No, they are not renewable.

Q: When do the contracts end?
	A: June 30, 2010.

Q: May we interview the candidates?
A: Yes, you may interview the UrbanFORCE candidates to determine which ones match your needs.

Q: Is the interview process done after the grant is awarded?
	A: Yes.

Q: The partnership - does it require non-WIA agency partnership?
	A: Yes it does.

Q: Do the employers have to be from the city?
	A: No.

Q: Can outside consultants work with the grantees?
A: It depends on how you set up your program.

Q: Does SLATE provide the training for the youth that they will be employing, or is that something that they will have to factor into the budget?
A: That is something you will have to factor into the budget. You may have to set up educational training or occupational training.

Q: Do they have to have training first or can they go directly to employment?
A: If you determine that they can start immediately, they can work at the beginning of the program. The outcomes that we are looking for are the program placement and employment. Occupational or educational training has to link to an employer.

Q: Will you have case managers available for our use?
A: Case managers are available depending on the program that you want to set up.

Q: Exactly how many youth would you like to go through the program? In 90 days you would like to see 10 and then another 90 days 10 more?
A: The number of youth you serve depends on the number that you can handle. You will have all of the youth from start to finish, not receive new ones throughout the program.

Q: Can you tell us how many 18 - 21 year olds went through the program?
	A: There were 638 participants from 18 - 21 years old.

Q: Can you tell me if there is a cost per participant?
A: It is what you determine the cost to be. We are comparing the cost of a community college and a four year college with the proposed budgets. You really need to explain how you are finding your costs. DESE certified programs are preferred.

Q: Will eligibility have to be re-determined?
A: Only if they need updated income information or updated phone and address information.

Q: Do you provide work tools or do we include those in our budget?
A: You would include those costs in your budget.

Q: Do you provide liability insurance?
A: No, you need to incur that cost.
