 Dear Manufacturer,

            “Almost 300,000 Missourians work in more than 7,600 manufacturing companies…many of them right here in St. Louis.  Manufacturing accounts for 15.2 percent of Missouri’s Gross Domestic Product and more than 90 percent of our state’s export.  Manufacturing industries range from food processing to fabricated metals, from chemicals to plastic and rubber to electrical equipment. Manufacturing remains a powerful economic engine in St. Louis and manufacturers pay taxes to support schools, law enforcement, emergency preparedness, public works and other essential services enjoyed by all St. Louisians.”   -  Missouri Enterprise

          Because of these prevailing statistics, the Office of the License Collector held a Manufacturing Industry Briefing at City Hall on April 3, 2009 in the Kennedy Hearing Room.  Over 175 individuals representing the manufacturing industry, as well as City, State, and Federal Programs, along with banks and other service providers attended. This collaboration was created by the License Collector’s Office to help ensure that the manufacturing industry has resource information and access to the services and programs available specifically for your industry during these challenging economic times.

         Our management team, field representatives, and manufacturing specialists were on hand to answer pertinent questions about the services of the Office of the License Collector. There was ample time for networking and interaction with representatives who addressed manufacturers’ unique needs. Among the service providers presenting were the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade and Commercial Services; the Small Business Administration; St. Louis Development Corporation; Missouri Department of Economic Development, and Missouri Enterprise.  Numerous financial institutions and other service providers were also in attendance with informational booths highlighting services and resources for your industry.  For more information, links to their individual websites are listed.
