Search this page for fun activities for the children, as well as, other information regarding our community outreach efforts. The St. Louis Fire Department offers education on a number of topics related to the department's duties. There are classes or presentations available relating to fire safety and emergency medical services.
Smoke Alarm Installation Program - The St. Louis Fire Department's longest running community outreach began as a partnership with Barnes Hospital and the Burn Care Support Group in 1984. For this program the department installs, free of charge, long life smoke alarms with lithium power cells, which are designed to last for ten years without battery changes. In addition, the St. Louis Fire Department offers free home fire safety surveys and assistance with designing home fire escape plans. Fire Safety House Program (Safe House) - The Safe House is a mobile fire safety house that is set up at different events throughout the city. The purpose of the program is to instruct our citizens on fire safety topics, such as: smoke alarms, home escape plans, using 911, and a host of other fire safety topics. Sparky's Web-Site Fire Extinguisher Training - Fire Extinguisher training is for the business industry and is handled by Fire Marshal's Staff. contact number - 289-1960
Careers in the Fire Service - This program offers a brief synopsis of the careers available on the St. Louis Fire Department, as well as, the training necessary to successfully compete for a job opening . The entry level careers include: dispatcher, emergency medical technician, firefighter, and paramedic. Fire Safety with the Uh-Oh's
CPR Training - a non-credentialing course offered free of charge. Credentialing courses are available for a fee. contact number - 289-1938

Are You O.K.?® (RUOK) Program - This is a telephone reassurance program for elderly or disabled individuals that are living independently in the City of St. Louis. The automated system calls your home 7 days a week, to make sure you are okay. If we do not get an answer after 3 attempts, an emergency vehicle will be dispatched to your home to again make sure you are okay. This program is offered free of charge.
