St. Louis Fire Department History:
Current Districts and Firehouses

The St. Louis Fire Department currently has 30 firehouses strategically located around the City of St. Louis. These houses are currently occupied by 36 full-time fire companies, 13 Medic Units, along with various other specialty equipment. There are 30 Pumpers, 4 Hook & Ladders, and 2 Heavy Rescue Squads.

The houses are broken down into 6 fire districts, with each district having 6 frontline fire apparatus. The breakdown is as follows.

District 1

Engine House No. 5 is located at 2123 North Market St., and houses Engine 5, H&L 2, 801, and Medic-5. This house was built in 1953.
Engine House No. 8 is located at 1501 Salisbury St., and houses Engine 8. This house was built in 1929.
Engine House No. 9 is located at 814 LaBeaume Ave., and houses Engine 9 and Medic-9. This house was built in 1957.
Engine House No. 10 is located at 4161 Kennerly Ave., and houses Engine 10 and Medic-10. This house was built in 1908.
Engine House No. 17 is located at 3238 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd., and houses Engine 17. This house was built in 1925.

District 2

Engine House No. 1 is located at 2910 S. Jefferson Ave., and houses Engine 1 and Rescue Squad 1. This house was built in 1975.
Engine House No. 2 is located at 314 S. Tucker Blvd., and houses Engine 2, H&L 6, 802, and Medic-2. This house was built in 1929.
Engine House No. 7 is located at 2600 LaSalle St., and house Engine 7. This house was built in 1971.
Engine House No.11 is located at 2224 S. 7th St, and houses Engine 11. This house was built in 1963.

District 3

Engine House No. 6 is located at 5747 Manchester Ave., and houses Engine 6. This house was built in 1904.
Engine House No. 22 is located at 1229 McCausland Ave., and houses Engine 22. This house was built in 1958.
Engine House No. 31 is located at 4408 Donovan Ave., and houses Engine 31 and Medic-31. This house was built in 1953.
Engine House No. 35 is located at 5450 Arsenal St., and houses Engine 35, 803, and Medic-35. This house was built in 1895.
Engine House No. 36 is located at 5000 S. Kingshighway Blvd., and houses Engine 36 and H&L 4. This house was built in 1926.

District 4

Engine House No. 4 is located at 4425 S. Compton Ave., and houses Engine 4 and 804. This house was built in 1906.
Engine House No.14 is located at 3523 Magnolia Ave., and houses Engine 14 and Medic-14. This house was built in 1909.
Engine House No. 19 is located at 6624 Morganford Rd., and houses Engine 19. This house was built in 1956.
Engine House No. 23 is located at 6500 Michigan Ave., and houses Engine 23 and Medic-23. This house was built in 1921.
Engine House No. 32 is located at 3500 S. Grand Blvd., and houses Engine 32 and Medic-32. This house was built in 1899.
Engine House No. 34 is located at 8227 S. Broadway, and houses Engine 34. This house was built in 1895.

District 5

Engine House No. 13 is located at 1400 Shawmut Pl., and houses Engine 13 and Medic-13. This house was built in 1908.
Engine House No.28 is located at 4810 Enright Ave., and houses Engine 28, H&L 15, and 805. This house was built in 1932.
Engine House No. 29 is located at 200 S. Vandeventer Ave., and houses Engine 29, Rescue Squad 2, and Medic-29. This house was built in 1965.
Engine House No. 30 is located at 541 DeBaliviere Ave., and houses Engine 30. This house was built in 1957.

District 6

Engine House No. 12 is located at 5214 W. Florissant Ave., and houses Engine 12 and Medic-12. This house was built in 1909.
Engine House No. 20 is located at 5600 Prescott Ave., and houses Engine 20 and 806. This house was built in 1960.
Engine House No. 24 is located at 5245 Natural Bridge Ave., and houses Engine 24. This house was built in 1922.
Engine House No. 26 is located at 4520 Margaretta Ave., and houses Engine 26. This house was built in 1917.
Engine House No. 27 is located at 5435 Partridge Ave., and houses Engine 27. This house was built in 1922.
Engine House No. 33 is located at 8300 N. Broadway, and houses Engine 33 and Medic-33. This house was built in 1909.
